The virgin will conceive and bear a son, and he shall be called Emmanuel, a name which means, God is with us. (Mathew 1:23)

Merry Christmas, wishing you God’s blessings and peace!

For us it’s been the year of the house.  It began last winter with our installing a hot water heater.  Come spring we decided it was time for an exterior paint job.  Summer arrived and our A/C unit went down.  And last, we had foundation problems to remedy.  Ye gads!

Changes in latitudes; Deborah moved to LA in March.  Doris drove out west with her, car filled to the brim, including her cat, Star.  Early August we were in Marion for David’s 40th HS Reunion and visits with old friends; Mom and Pop; Sis and family; and Unc.

We ventured to East Texas a few times to visit our favorite B&B and winery.  See Los Pinos Vineyards in the gallery for pics.  Other than that it’s been business as usual.

Hope all is well with you and yours.  Know that you are in our hearts and our thoughts this holiday season.  Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!   God bless all, and to all a good night.

What a super time we had at the Marion C.C. celebrating the fortieth reunion of the Marion Catholic High School graduating class of 1968!  Almost two-thirds of the 72 graduates attended.  We had a ball.

A special thanks to the organizers who put together a great weekend of activities.  See the photo collage in the gallery.

 ___01 Jul  2008___

We celebrated the Fourth of July holiday in Pittsburg, TX, and what a great time we had.  We'll be posting some photos of the festivities in the gallery later this week.

Best wishes for a happy and safe holiday.  May God bless us all!

Happy Easter!

Doris' youngest daughter, Deborah, has moved to LA!  Good luck, in LA, Ole! (kinda corny, huh?).

Oh, and speaking of, Ole!  We want to congratulate the winners of the Academy Awards Party balloting.  Deborah (yes, the same one that moved to LA) and Ali tied for first, guessing 7 out of 10 category winners.  Doris and Joelyn  tied for second with 5 out of 10.  Congrats to all who participated, we had a ball.

 ___15 Feb  2008___

Mark your calendars folks, and save the date, Feb. 24th.  Beginning at six o'clock on Sunday evening, David, Doris, Joelyn and Deborah will host their First Annual Academy Awards Party.

You can expect your Evite invitation to arrive Feb 12th.  The Evite will have all the details.  Hope to see you on the red carpet!

 ___01 Feb  2008___

This Sunday, at the annual Super Boil Party, we'll see the debut of Dino's new 65" Mitsubishi DPL.  That, coupled with his surround sound, will bring us a little closer to the action in Phoenix.  Are you ready for some football!

 ___15 Jan  2008___

It's mid January, and in Aspen that means Wintersköl, Aspen's Winter Festival, followed by Gay Ski Week.  This is not a joke, folks.  Gay Ski Week is celebrating its 31st year in Aspen.  At this very moment gays and lesbians are gathering in the old mining town (some of them even ski) for a week of revelry and celebration, and a gay time it is....sorry.

Back at the ranch we're prepping for the winter migration of the snowbirds, our friends and relatives from those northern climes searching out a respite from the cold, and the Annual Super Boil at Dino's.  Forget about the popcorn, get your Ya-Ya's out!

Congrats to Ohio State!  The first BCS poll of the season finds the Bucks the top of the heap at No. 1.  The rest of the top five includes, South Florida (who?), Boston College, LSU, and Oklahoma.

Speaking of scary, hope this doesn't serve as a curse on the Buckeyes.  And, if that's not enough, if the season ended today the Bucks would need to play another Florida team for the National title.

Joe and Anne hosted the annual Sowa Family Reunion at their home in D'Hanis this year.  As per usual, the food was great and the company, superb.

Marshall and Evelyn traveled the furthest, coming in from Nashville.  All the aunts were there, Aunt Mary, Aunt Jonnie, and Aunt Appie.  Uncle C.B. and Aunt Lee were there, too.

Larry and Ronnie won the horseshoe competition, they finally got their names on the trophy.  Way to go, fellas!

See the 'Reunions' section of the Gallery (gallery 3) for photos.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads!

Plans for Hilton Head are ramping up.  If you haven't booked a flight yet, you may want to begin checking availability.  It looks like Jacksonville, FL is the gateway city for those traveling Sunday to Sunday.  Drop us a line at 2pl2 if you need a ride from the airport, we'll hook you up.

Be on the watch for an email regarding meal planning for the week.  We're trying to get a menu together for dinner each night so we can do the grocery shop at Costco on the way in.   Any preference for things you might want for breakfast, lunch or munchies, is also welcome.

April has changed jobs, but we've yet to catch up with her to get the details.  Stay tuned...

___01 Jun  2007___

Danielle has moved out of Dallas?  Just kidding!  She's moved into a new apartment a few blocks down the street .  Drop us an email at 2pl2 and we'll give you her new address.

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms!

Patsy announced she's retiring in July.  She plans to spend her time with hobbies, doing volunteer work, 'and making life easier for John'.

Friends of Ashley's hosted a wedding shower for her in Marion on May 5th.  Among those attending were Ashley's mom, Deb, and Matt's mother and sister, who came in from New Jersey.

Holly cow, it's epidemic!  David and Doris have announced, they too, are getting married!

Max caught up with the elusive, and camera-shy couple, at David's upper North-side apartment.  Both, groom and his betroth are adamant there will not be a double-ring ceremony in Hilton Head.

Duhda da da (read haunting organ music)...

Rather, the couple plan to elope, and honeymoon on-board ship somewhere in the Caribbean.  When pressed for a date they would only say, sometime in May.

Read Max's exclusive interview, in it's entirety, later this month.

___15 Feb 2007___

Deb and Al's son, Jarod, is moving to Columbus in the next couple of weeks.  He figures that a 10 minute commute is better than an hour and ten minutes (I told you that kid was smart).

Doris' daughter, Deborah, has moved to Addison.  Don't be surprised if you see Deb's name scrolling up the big screen in the film credits one of these days.  She continues to get work in the biz.

Doris is now an empty-nester, save for that abominable cat, Kiki, and poor ole, Footprints.

___15 Dec 2006___

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.  (Luke 2:14)

Merry Christmas, I hope this greeting finds you healthy, happy, and filled with the Holy Spirit this holiday season!

Isn’t it great that we have this tradition of sending Christmas cards?  At least once a year, we can reach out to all our friends and loved ones and say; hey…thinkin’ ‘bout you!!  Hope you’re doin’ OK, we’re doin’ OK, too.

Doris and I  have not yet married (for those of you asking).  She’s in the Development Dept. at Children’s Hospital, and I’m still working for The Software Group, doing training and support.  I haven’t been out on the road for about 6 months now, which is fine with me.  Give those young bucks the frequent flyer miles.

This year I played some golf.  We went to South Padre  for a weekend, did Fiesta  San Antonio, attended the Krawczynski Family Reunion at Canyon Lake, TX, and of course, we made a trip to Marion to see the family.  That Marion trip gets more special every year...feeling so blessed.

I took some time this summer to start this Web site for family and friends.  Mostly, it’s a forum for sharing photos and favorite recipes.  But, it has room to grow, we’ll see.  Merry Christmas, y'all!

___01 Dec 2006___

Downtown Dallas, Saturday, December 2nd, Neiman Marcus and the Adolphus Hotel host the annual Children's Parade benefiting Children's Medical Center Dallas.  Doris and I will volunteer as Bleacher Hosts again this year.  Look for us in front of the Adolphus portico, on Commerce Street.
